for sight seeing in Thane District
There
are number of places for sight seeing in Thane district. If
one decides to visit the beautiful historical places in Thane,
there is no dearth of it. Thane city is next to Mumbai still
it has its distinction as Thane city.
Hajimalang (Malanggad) is very famous which is situated at
Kalyan. People of different religious gather for pilgrims
on Malanggad on the eve of Magh Pournima. To ract Malanggad
(Hajimalang) S.T. buses and autos are available from Kalyan.
In Ambernath there is an old ancient Lord Shiva Temple which
is situated 4 Km. away from Ambernath station. From railway
station you can reach there by auto.
In
11th century, King Mahawaniraj of Shikhan kingdom constructed
this temple. One notifies beautiful stone carvings of Hemadpanthi
Vastu Art. Next to Ambernath there is one place called Badlapur.
There one can see "Kundeshwar" Lord Shiva Temple.
Kundeshwar is very near near from Juweli village and beautiful
lake of Bhoj. This temple is situated near waterfall. For
one day picnic it is ideal location.
In
Kalyan we can see Lonad caves. Kandeshwari Devi's small caves
are located at Jamwal village 3 Km from Thane Bhiwandi by
pass near Konfata. On western side of Senal village near Konfata,
there is Dindigad (fort). Around one hour takes for climbing
on Dindigad. On this fort there is a Dindeshwar Mahadev Temple.
From there on eastern side Kalyan Dombivli and on western
side Bhiwandi are seen.
